Beyond Medicine
Since his high school years in Egypt, Ahmed Geneid has nurtured a strong and lasting interest in foreign diplomacy and economics. Although his parents wisely advised him to pursue medicine, a path that—considering the time and circumstances—proved deeply rewarding, his fascination with global affairs and economic development never disappeared. This duality of interests shaped his outlook early on. While studying medicine, he remained active beyond the classroom: leading his student association, engaging in international medical student collaborations, and developing a keen awareness of how medicine and broader societal structures intertwine.
Later, after relocating to Finland, he built a distinguished career in medicine, eventually becoming Head of Department, adj. professor, all while raising a family with his wife and two daughters. Yet even amidst these professional and personal achievements, his curiosity for economics, innovation, and global impact never faded. Over the past years, he has actively transformed that interest into concrete ventures, working as an angel investor and co-founder of several startups and medium-sized companies. These initiatives are primarily based in Finland and Europe but have more recently expanded into the Middle East, particularly Egypt, bridging his professional networks and cultural ties across continents. His investment focus spans medical technology and healthcare services, reflecting his clinical background, but also extends into financial services and fintech, where he sees opportunities for broader societal transformation. Ahmed Geneid is a member of Finnish Business Angels Network.
Beyond his professional and entrepreneurial commitments, he values balance and personal well-being. In the time left for hobbies, he enjoys spending quality time with his family, cycling when the weather allows, and maintaining a regular gym routine to keep both body and mind in shape.
